    Led by Vanessa Adams-Harris, the initial event for the John hope Franklin Symposium activities, the Greenwood Bus Tour will include significant sites often identified within the 1921 Race Massacre and significant landmarks for Tulsa’s Historic Greenwood area.

    The youth debate team provide deliberations over the symposium topic, “The Case for Education in Reconciliation: Focusing on Advocacy.” The information the youth present will provide foundation for subsequent dialogue sessions with both the youth and adults for the remainder of the symposium day.

    From her youth vantage point, Miller will discuss how she has seen activism and advocacy and would like to see how improvements can occur. Miller will be joined by local educators and community advocates, and other youth in discussing their thoughts on advocacy after hearing Miller’s presentation.

    Culminating the youth summit, the attendees will participate in a community action effort that allows them to demonstrate how they are doing reconciliation efforts as a final action within their summit activities. Adult participants are invited to support the youth as well.
