JHF-logo-white.png

We welcome you joining us for our 15th Annual John Hope Franklin Reconciliation in America National Symposium. This year’s symposium is presented in four segments throughout 2024 with an intentional focus on introducing history through the lens of women. We will focus first on Women’s History Month in March with Dr. Kate Clifford Larson, historian/author and “The Fannie Lou Hamer Story” presented by acclaimed actor/singer Mzuri Moyo Aimbaye. Ensuing segments will provide a glimpse into the life of a runaway slave’s pursuit of freedom, a little known but powerful figure in American history, Ona Judge, and the relentless manhunt led by America’s first president to recapture his property, a presentation of the intersections of African American, Native American, and women’s histories in the context of place and, a fourth segment scholar presentation and venue to be determined.

Four segments, four dynamic speakers, four venues!
